Jo Lodge is an illustrator and paper engineer and was greatly influenced by her artistic parents - her mother Maureen Roffey, an illustrator, and her father Bernard Lodge, a graphic designer. Jo has been nominated for the Sainsbury's Baby Book Award and was finalist for the Sheffield Baby Book Award. She is best known for her Mr Croc books which have been a hit around the world with sales exceeding 1 million. Jo is also the creator of the new brilliantly interactive Little Roar series. A Canadian, Karen Wallace gained a degree in English from London University. She now writes full time for children and for children's television. She and illustrator Mike Bostock won the TES Information Book Award for Think of an Eel (Walker Books). Her novel Raspberries on the Yangtse was shortlisted for the Guardian Award. She is married to novelist Sam Llewellyn.
