Biography
Queenie Rikihana-Hyland lives in Otaki. Her iwi affiliations are Ngati Raukawa ki te Tonga, Te Ati Awa ki Waikanae, and her hapu is Ngati Koroki. She is a freelance journalist who has written many articles about Maori issues for various publications, including the Dominion and the Listener. Patrick Puru was born in and lives in Rotorua. His tribal affiliations are Te Arawa and Nga Puhi. He says his work is a 'blend of my personal research, Maori identity, life's inspiration, my love for music and a desire to challenge my artistic abilities.' This is the first book Patrick has illustrated.
