Jellybean

by Tessa Duder
Reviewed by Emma Lockie

This book is about a girl whose mum plays the cello in an orchestra (which she finds really, really, really boring). Her name is Geraldine but her Mum calls her Jellybean. Her Mum plays in a pub to earn extra money. She doesn’t usually come to the pub with her Mum but on one of her rare visits with her Mum she comes across a man named Gerald who told her about conductors. When her Mum took her home, she made a decision. She wanted to be a conductor, so her journey to complete her goal begins!!! This book is for 10 to 12 year olds. It would help you read the book a lot better if you played a musical instrument and if you like this book a lot I would recommend one of Tessa Duder’s other very great books called Alex.
