Alice Greenwood
Thirteen-year-old Alice Greenwood has a bookshelf filled with interesting, exciting titles from a wide range of genres. The Brooklyn School student lives in Motueka and enjoys reading every day. Alice’s favourite authors include Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Morpurgo and Roald Dahl.

Ten-year-old Emma Lockie loves stories about animals, magical fairies and girls her own age. The Verran Primary School student also likes books about how to make and cook things; some of her favourite books are from the popular Kiwi Bites series. Emma's best-loved authors include Meg Cabot, Daisy Meadows, Lucy Daniels, Linda Chapman, Dick King Smith and Margaret Mahy.

Jack Reid
Orewa College student Jack Reid loves a good book. The 12-year-old enjoys genres ranging from adventure and action to murder mystery and comedy. Jack can be found reading on a daily basis and takes pleasure in popular titles by authors including Robert Muchamore, Brian Jacques, Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket), J K Rowling, Spike Milligan, Eoin Colfer, Emily Rodda and Lucy and Stephen Hawking.

John Edwards
Fantasy, action, biographies and humour are at the top of 14-year-old John Edwards' list of preferred genres. A student at Napier Boys' High School, John enjoys the work of J K Rowling, Eoin Colfer, Chris Ryan, Andy McNab, Vikas Swarup, Andy Griffiths, Roald Dahl, Christopher Paolini and Robert Muchamore.

Jordan Willis-Love
Jordan Willis-Love of Lower Hutt not only enjoys fictional stories about animals and adventure, but also loves short stories by Paul Jennings and movie novels that have clever twists. Jordan (11) attends St Orans' College and reads the work of Paul Jennings, Enid Blyton, Jacqueline Wilson, Meg Cabot, Karen McCombie, Roald Dahl, Louis Sachar and Lauren Child.

Logan Rae
St Thomas of Canterbury College student Logan Rae has a passion for books that are adventurous, mythical, thrilling and geographical. He also enjoys books that are jam-packed with world records. The 13-year-old lives in Rangiora and his favourite authors include Anthony Horowitz, J K Rowling and Jenny Nimmo.

Megan Kedzlie
Megan Kedzlie enjoys reading a wide range of genres, including such popular titles as the Cherub series and Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. The 13-year-old from Paraparaumu Beach also loves action and adventure books and the odd chick-lit title. Megan's favourite authors include Anthony Horowitz, Neil Gaiman, Meg Cabot, Robert Muchamore and Claudia Grey.

Nat O'Neill
You won't find Nat O'Neill reading anything other than action, humour and adventure. The Invercargill 14-year-old attends Verdon College and enjoys reading on a daily basis. Anthony Horwitz, Andy Griffiths, Chris Ryan, Robert Muchamore and Andy McNab are just a few of Nat's favourite authors.

Priscilla de Groen Hutchinson of Kaitaia is 16 and an avid reader of both fiction (science fiction, romance, mystery, horror) and non-fiction. Priscilla feeds her passion for reading with favourite authors including John Marsden, Robert Muchamore, Margaret Mahy, Bernard Beckett, Spike Milligan, J K Rowling, Paul Jennings, Emily Rodda and Cliff McNish.

Shannon Hayes
Shannon Hayes is a keen reader and loves stories about horses and ponies. The genres at the top of her list include mystery, fantasy, fairytales and classics. Shannon is nine years old and attends St Mary's Catholic School in Rotorua. She enjoys books by Enid Blyton, C S Lewis, Bonnie Bryant, Daisy Meadows and Susan Coolidge.
