The Red Necklace
by Sally Gardner
Reviewed by Jordan Willis-Love
Yann Margoza works at a theatre and performs tricks with Topolain and Tetu. They are very popular and everything is going well for them, until they get invited to the Marquis’ palace to perform. After a disastrous night, Yann is sent to London to learn to read and write. His life had been hard enough already and it gets even harder when he’s in hiding. I recommend this book to people aged 11-15 who like stories that include mystery, murder and passion. This book made me think about how lucky I really am, and I hope other kids like me will think the same way when they read this book.
