Don't Stop Believin'

Perhaps it is just me, after all I was born and raised in Australia, but Olivia’s music was a strong presence growing up. Whilst reading this I decided to put spotify on and have her music playing along as I read – and it was a trip down memory lane. British born but raised in Australia, this is the fi rst time Olivia has written extensively about her full life. From early days housed on a Melbourne university campus as her Dad was one of the Professors there to strong infl uences that inspired her singing career. Her daring, risky travels to London with her lifelong friend Pat Farrar and their early singing duets show Olivia’s tenacity and hardworking ethic that has helped carve out a lengthy, solid singing career. Her breakthrough solo album was the fi rst of a stellar list that has spanned decades. She will have you singing along as you read – remembering Let Me Be There, If Not For You, Have You Never Been Mellow, Please Mr Please, Banks of the Ohio, Country Roads and through to her breakthrough songs from Grease and Xanadu which gave her international fame. On a personal note, she shares how she found the will to fi ght breast cancer, twice, and her heartbreak of marriage breakdown along with a business failure. She’s never ‘stayed down’ for long and tells of her successful charities but especially the launch of Olivia NewtonJohn Cancer Wellness & Research Centre in Melbourne. It’s a full and concise read that fans will fi nd most satisfying. So put the Spotify on and get lost amongst the memories in the pages.
