This is the sequel to the debut novel Nomad that was released last year and I loved that. Marc Dane is a tech specialist and is betrayed by one in MI6 that cost lives. He was forced to run and work out a way to defend himself which showed ‘humanness’ in his character that was a real strength in the story. In Exile, Marc is sent to Croatia to destroy a vicious Serbian gang dealing with all things illegal. A disgraced Russian general and his partner are on the run and to ensure their freedom they have a weapon they’re willing to pass onto ‘the highest bidder’ in evil circles. On another front, a vengeful Somali warlord is loose, tracking down those that caused his downfall. In the middle is Marc in a race against time to connect the dots to stop death, destruction and mayhem from an elusive stolen nuclear bomb. If you’re a fan of Lee Child or Daniel Silva then you will love this series from new author James Swallow.
