Force of Nature

After the huge success of Jane Harper's debut, The Dry, the big question was, could she repeat the trick? Well, you'd better believe it! Once again, agent Aaron Falk and the beautiful but brutal Australian landscape take centre stage. She is proof that you don't need an ever rising body count to maintain intrigue and tension. Another deeply satisfying piece of stroytelling.

Force of Nature

Jane Harper burst onto the book scene last year with her superb debut title The Dry which featured in my Top 5 Fiction. I was eager to read the surprise sequel and it has delivered! Federal Police Agent Aaron Falk features again and this time he is called into a missing bushwalker’s case...the link being that the missing person was key to a police case he was working on. Set in modern day, in the rugged Victorian mountain ranges during cold, wet winter months. Five women from the same corporate company are reluctant participants on a ‘staff team building weekend’ and they all have their reasons to see the demise of one of their colleagues. Jane Harper has added depth to her characters in this new book and whilst there are more tangents, drama and families, she weaves them together to create a dark mystery and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! “lost, cold, desperate...danger runs deep”
