Nicole is a firm staff favourite and
grows stronger as an author with each
new book. Commentators refer to her
as ‘the Australian equivalent of Jodi
Picoult’ so that’s a huge compliment!
Psychological suspense is her speciality
and she’s delivered on this one.
In a single day, a simple mistake will
have life-altering consequences for
everyone involved.
Malia steps out of the car, leaving
young Zach strapped in – after all, she
only needs milk...
Life is already under pressure but
it spirals out of control when Zach
disappears.
Detective Ali knows what Malia is
experiencing and questions whether
she is the right person for the case.
Interwoven into the race against
time is the narrative of the offender
and the darker edges of a kidnap!
Great, gripping thriller for these cold
winter nights.
