House Across the Street

Lesley is a staff favourite and this new release has been highly anticipated both in store and for fans alike. Staff member Kalli has recently devoured this and gives us her review: “Set in the 1960s in a small English town at a time when there was great excitement in the fashion world. Women were wearing their skirts shorter and their hair straighter which emboldened them to be stronger in sticking up for themselves in home and work. Gloria lives across the road and leads a mysterious life, hosting young women coming and going late at night. Why all the secrecy and what has led to her demise? This is all under the watchful eye of Katy, a twenty three year old who lives across the road from Gloria and is intrigued with the strangers in shifting shadows. Why is Katy in strained relations with her mother and what does her father have to do with the house across the road? Lesley has a way of bringing significant social issues to light and this book will grip you from the beginning”
