Perhaps you have seen Jake’s story on TVNZ Sunday program (7th May) or heard him on various radio interviews this past week? Jake’s inspirational end-of-year speech as head boy at Christchurch Boy’s High School was delivered from a wheelchair just one week after he was diagnosed with aggressive cancer. His sheer will and determination pulled him from his pain and hospital bed to deliver the speech that went on to make headlines around the world and viewed millions of times on the internet. Jake’s cancer and that speech became the start of a bigger journey that continues today. He shares in a brutally honest way giving an account of his illness, treatment and recovery. The experience has taught him lessons beyond his years and this is his story.
