Maori at Work

Stacey and Scotty Morrison make it easy to
embrace our national language, Te Reo Maori
and they’ve personally inspired to me to try – I
have the added hurdle of being Australian but
have lived here in New Zealand long enough to
be considered an ‘honorary Kiwi’!
Every year for Maori Language Week, the
Morrisons release an exceptional publication
that makes it easy to start or add to your
Te Reo skills. There is an impressive range now
and this year they have launched Maori At
Work. Simple phrases, words and the meaning
of Maori Proverbs are included. From simple
or formal greetings through to Tikanga –
Maori principles and values in the workplace.
There are various working sectors covered too
including; office and business, technology,
construction and roadworks, retail, teachers,
airports, media and hospitality. They provide
guidance for letters and emails and help you
with speeches.
Again, the perfect handbook to help you in
your employed role and ensure you can craft
your language skills.
