Nine Perfect Strangers

If you are looking for something hugely entertaining but also intelligent, ascerbic and with an undercurrent of darkness, then this is the book for you. If you haven’t discovered Liane Moriarty yet, now is the time to start!

Nine Perfect Strangers

This is the perfect holiday read to kick back and meet nine strangers from all walks of life that have checked into a ‘wellness resort’ in rural Australia. Their stay promises transformation, counsel and rejuvenation whilst enjoying hot stone massages, attention and healthy food – well that is the plan... Masha is the health centre’s director and controls everything, overseeing the eclectic mix of the new guests. She assumes she knows them all and draws from her experience with past attendees of her course and pushes boundaries that lead to a showdown! Each attendee has their reasons for being at the centre and these become clearer with each new chapter. Frances is a menopausal author with a career in freefall. A young married couple seem a mis-match and why are a couple holidaying with their teenage daughter – there’s a sadness that swims around them. Meet them all and discover their secrets, fears and hopes. Liane Moriarty writes with a humorous, witty, sharp style and the strength of this new story is her exploration of human nature when thrown together in unconventional circumstances. She covers themes of shame, guilt, loss, grief, privilege, insecurity, addiction, identity and love. If you’re a fan of author Jojo Moyes then you’ll love Liane Moriarty too – she’s a genuine comparison.
