Room on Our Rock

The plight of refugees is nearly always in the news and this clever story encourages families to start the conversation with even young children. At first it is a negative tale of rejection but read the story backwards and suddenly there is a whole new tale.

Room on Our Rock

This is a clever, delightful children’s picture book with a deeper meaning. it’s a modern message of welcome to refugees and is read in two ways. you read through, then the author asked you to read it back and another meaning appears. it’s very clever and can also be used for older children to discuss the complexities of ‘there being enough room for all’. beautiful illustrations with a simple text that is thoughtful and leaves you wondering. The subtitle says ‘There are two sides to every story’ which tells you of the concept. ‘There’s room on the rock’ – make space and time to share this delightful read with your family soon.
