Continuing on with our garden theme as we celebrate Garden Month in store for the month of June – we have a delightful new children’s book about butterflies and their secret world. “Butterflies are beautiful but they have some very odd habits – it’s time to discover their world! Did you know that butterflies taste with their feet? Or do a dark red poo when they come out of their chrysalises and some even drink the tears of crocodiles?” In conjunction with Tamaki Paenga Hira – Auckland War Memorial Museum, this picture story book is perfect for your younger reader. It’s informative and educational and we have some lovely colour in pages from the publishers that match images from the book. It’s a great starting place to inspire children to be active and interested in the garden and the natural world that surrounds us.
