Woman in the Window

A debut novel that came with great excitement from publishers and this is the book that nearly ruined store owner Warwick’s Christmas holiday! Here’s his take on it:
“The sun was shining, the surf was pumping, but there I was, closeted in a darkened room, unable to tear myself away from this bloody book! In short it is ‘unputdownable’. Is that a word? Tis now! And I am not at all surprised to hear that it has just cemented its place at No. 1 on the NY Times Best Seller list.
It’s dark, wrenching, creaking with menace, utterly compelling and beautifully written by debut author A J Finn. The central character, Anna Fox lives alone in Manhattan, spending most of her time in the company of red wine and a camera with a telephoto lens – she’s agoraphobic and hasn’t left her home in more than a year. She is also separated from her husband and 8 year old daughter, and begs them daily to return. Spying on her neighbours, she witnesses what she believes to be a murder. Trouble is, no one, including the police believe her. That’s the problem when you’re a world-class Merlot consumer. But of course, dark deeds soon unfold.
This book is more Hitchcock than Hitchcock! So it is no surprise that the movie rights have already been snapped up. You should snap it up too – it will only ruin a day or two of your Summer because you really won’t be able to put it down, but it will be worth it.”
