Young Queen

There is no doubt that Parris Goebel has made it on the world dance stage, working with the likes of Justin Bieber, J Lo, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and many other stars of hip hop and pop. Her rise from humble South Auckland humble beginnings is as amazing as it is inspiring.

Young Queen

his new title from new Zealand hip-hop dancer Parris Goebel has finally arrived in store after much anticipation and great excitement! This is her story and how she has conquered the world with her own unique style – not only for herself, but for other dancers from her crew. She not only saw opportunities for herself but to give others the placements on international stages. From a very young age, Parris has worked hard, used self-discipline and nurtured her dream with a firm focus on hip-hop. With very supportive parents school work was set aside and the dream came to life. Her father organised her first trip to USA to be part of monsters of Hip Hop training. Despite being the only one without confidence and ‘swag’, Parris dug deep and her gritty determination brought her success and vision. Her ReQuest Dance Crew followed and so did the competition circuit. Grabbing hold of every opportunity spurred Parris on including the opening of her own dance studio The Palace. Her breakthrough came when asked to work with Jennifer Lopez AKA Jlo on her Dance Again tour and from there to work on the Cirque Du Soleil michael Jackson show in Vegas. This was all serious big time dancing and choreography and all the stories are included in this tell-all. i love the blend of story and photographs but also the lessons ‘miss P’ has learned. She has inspirational quotes and journal entries of reflection. it’s perfect for the dancer and it’s a brave, exciting memoir of a journey so far.
