  • How to Escape from Prison - Dr Paul Wood

At 18, Paul Wood committed an act that would send him to prison for 11 years. A nightmarish world of violence, solitary confinement, gangs, drugs, vindictive wardens and regular stabbings in some of New Zealand's toughest jails.
Despite this, Paul became the first person in New Zealand to attain a bachelor's and master's degree in prison, and the first person to begin a doctorate while still incarcerated. Paul is now a Doctor of Psychology, helping other to fulfill their potential and resilience even in adversity.

  • Alan Duff - A Conversation With My Country

Following "Once Were Warriors", Alan Duff wrote "Maori: The Crisis and the Challenge". His controversial comments shook the country. A quarter of a century later, New Zealand and Maoridom are in a very different place. And so is Alan - he has published many more books, had two films made of his works, and founded the Duffy Books in Homes literacy programme. Telling it how he sees it, "A Conversation With My Country" is a fresh, personal account of New Zealand, now, from one of our hardest-hitting writers.
