We can boast of a flourishing olive oil industry in our region and enjoy those that work hard to bring us quality product! David Walshaw moved from a successful career in finance and decided on a life change – to grow olives for olive oil. This is part memoir and part industry advice from set up to processes. He shares the highs and lows of creating a lifestyle farm and business. Together with his wife Helen, they took the plunge to establish an olive grove in Te Horo on the Kapiti Coast. Their hard work has been rewarded with awards, commercial returns and the sheer satisfaction of ‘living the dream’. Filled with colourful pages alongside their stories and advice, this is perfect to be inspired during our Garden Month throughout the month of June instore.
